Here at THE NETWORK
CONNECTION our audio transcription is done with various level of
editing ranging from exactly what is heard to a level where the
editing removes ( best effort) all comments not related to the
topic at hand. . Rates also depend upon
the number of speakers.
We quote by the
recorded minute and that corresponds to 10
– 16 lines of 65 characters.That
is about 720 lines per hour of dictation. Rates start at 12 cents a
line and can go as low as 5.5 US cents a line.
Our standard approach
to presentation of transcribed material is :

Places where
everyone says something together such as “Sure” or “Yes” it
has been transcribed Bold, just once. |

Ø |
Inaudible parts
of the recording, which are so either due to bad sound quality
or due to everyone talking together have been marked as
“Inaudible” in Bold. |

Ø |
Indiscernible
parts of the recording, which may be so due to the speaker
speaking too fast or due to muffled voices, are marked as
“Indiscernible”. |

Ø |
Proper Nouns,
which are not known to us, are marked as “Proper Noun” in
Bold. This is done so that wrong words do not form a part of
the records. Places where the spellings are spelt out have
been transcribed. |

Places with
Yellow bookmarks, are the places which need some attention.
These are words we are not clear about. We have indicated the
minutes of the voice file for your convenience. |

We will identify
speakers when they identify themselves before speaking |
